AVAYA introduces Partner ACS Release 6. As with the Release 5, the initial
capacity is 3 lines by 8 extensions. The ACS features Caller ID, 2 PC Card slots
for quick and easy software upgrade to new releases, PCMCIA card backup and
restore functionality, and direct connection of analog answering machines, fax
machines, telephones, and modems. This release is compatible with the Partner
Voice Messaging PC Card (Large and Small), Partner Mail, Partner Mail VS Voice
Mail System, and Partner Messaging R.1 and R.6. Other features include: 911
forced account code interaction, unique line ringing, automatic daylight savings
time/standard time adjustment, programmable for up to 100 system speed dial
numbers, internal call forwarding, capability for up to 2 contact-closure
connections to control door locks, security systems, and other devices by using
contact-closure adjunct, music on hold connector, SMDR (Station Message Detail
Recording) port, and in Paging Port, power failure transfer ports, and support
for 1600 DSL module, a module that contains up to 16 lines on one line jack. In
addition to these features which were available on the ACS Release 5, the
following enhancements are available with this new Release 6:
- T1 Module (Fractional T1):
Enables use of fractional T1 with up to 16 voice lines via a T1 facility
giving businesses cost effective trunking options that are typically available
only with larger PBX systems. This T1 module supports Ear & Mouth (E & M)
signaling with or without Direct Inward Dialing (DID) service. It also
supports the emulation of E & M signaling with automatic and wink start
signaling types. However, this module will not support emulated Loop Start,
Ground Start lines, emulated DID lines, or Primary Rate Interface (PRI). In
addition, only one T1 module is allowed per system and it must be installed in
the first slot of a 5-slot carrier or the second slot of a 2-slot carrier. T1
must be also be provisioned on channels 9 or higher — a Channel Service Unit (CSU)
is included for provisioning the voice lines. The T1 module can only be
administered via PARTNER PC Administration and Diagnostics software.
- DID Service Feature Operation
(Requires T1 Module): provides the capability for a
DID number to be routed to a PARTNER extension number or hunt group. This
feature gives users DID services on the E & M lines via the T1 module, which
enables E & M lines to be used for both incoming calls and origination of
outgoing calls. With this 2-way operation of E & M lines and DID, business
customers gain flexibility by making better use of their PARTNER ACS system.
This feature can only be administered via PARTNER PC Administration and
Diagnostics software.
- Cell Phone Connect (Requires T1
Module): This feature allows calls to a specific
extension to be forwarded to a personal speed dial number outside the PARTNER
system. Calls will ring at both the PARTNER telephone and the designated
destination telephone, such as a cell phone. Users have the flexibility to
answer the call at either telephone. In addition, calls answered at an
external destination telephone can later be accessed via the PARTNER telephone
and the destination telephone connection can be dropped. Calls not answered at
either telephone will follow programmed PARTNER coverage such as voice mail
coverage. In those instances where the destination cell phone voice mail
answers before the PARTNER voice mail, the message is left in the cell phone
mailbox. Note that the Cell Phone Connect feature is turned on and off at the
PARTNER telephone.
- Remote Call Forward:
provides call forwarding without requiring the T1 module. This feature allows
calls to a PARTNER telephone to be immediately forwarded to a personal speed
dial number outside the PARTNER system. Unlike the Cell Phone Connect feature,
this call forwarding does not follow PARTNER call coverage paths. In this
case, forwarded calls that are not answered are immediately dropped if either
the originating caller or destination number disconnects. The Remote Call
Forward feature is turned on and off at the PARTNER telephone.
- Caller ID delivered to station when
transferred from Auto Attendant: delivers Caller ID
information to a display telephone for any call that is connected directly or
transferred from the Auto Attendant, Automatic System Answer (ASA) Feature, or
Direct Extension Dial (DXD) feature sometime during the first ring cycle. This
feature automatically updates the set display with the Caller ID and requires
no added interaction from the user.
- ‘Dialed Number’ Display Time
Increase: Under prior PARTNER ACS releases, when
dialing out, the set display is cleared after 15 seconds and the dialed number
display is erased. With Release 6, system software has been modified to retain
the dialed number on the PARTNER display set until another display overwrites
it or the call is terminated. Note that when the user performs an action with
a higher priority display, such as a initiating a transfer, it replaces the
dialed number display. Once the dialed number has been erased by a higher
priority display, the dialed number will not be redisplayed during that
session.
- Call Timer Continuity:
With prior PARTNER ACS releases, the Call Timer feature only reflects the time
the call is off hook at a user’s set. When the call is placed on hold or
transferred and retrieved at the same or another station, the call timer
resets from zero. In Release 6, this feature is being updated to more
accurately reflect actual call times. Now, the Call Timer will display the
entire time the call is active in the system, rather than simply the time the
call is active on a user’s set.
- Administrable Time for Hold Reminder:
This enhancement to the existing Hold Reminder feature enables administrators
to set the frequency at which the hold reminder tone is played. The current
Hold Reminder sounds every 60 seconds. This alerting can be re-set to 0, 10,
20, 30, 45, 60, 90, 120, 150 or 180 seconds.
- All Lines Busy Event:
issues a report to the PARTNER ACS event log (which is viewable
via the PC Administration and Diagnostic software) for instances where all
lines are busy. The threshold for the number of lines can be set using the PC
Administration and Diagnostics Software. This feature records the time and
duration of the last event when all lines were busy and includes a running
stroke count of all previous events. The start date and time for the events
log is also noted.
Remanufactured with one year warranty. Power cord sold separately.
